Analysis of mechanisms for promoting biofuel cogeneration plants applied in the European Union and in Lithuania were carried out. The most prevalent technologies, performance data were analysed and obstacles to the further development of this technology were identified. The performed analysis was evaluated in the recommended pricing methodology allowing forecasting of the purchase prices and the conditions necessary for the return on investment. Principal offers for solving of current problems were also provided in the work.
