In 2013, an application of UAB Šalčininkų Šilumos Tinklai“ for the project “Modernisation of the Šalčininkai district heating networks by installing modern technologies”, an investment project, the EIA report and conclusions, procurement documents for the procurement of the boiler house installation services and other documents required to get the support of the European Union Structural Funds under measure VP2-4.2-ŪM-02-K “Modernization and development of heat supply system” was prepared. The project provides for the modernization of 4.0 km of heat supply routes by installing new pipes isolated industrially and laid using a trenchless method. The investment support of LTL 2 million was allocated for the project in 2013.
