In 2013, an application of UAB Šalčininkų Šilumos Tinklai for the project “Use of biofuel for power generation in Šalčininkai”, an investment project, procurement documents for the procurement of the boiler house installation services and other documents required to get the support of the European Union Structural Funds under measure VP3-3.4-UM-02-K “The Use of renewable energy resources for power generation” was prepared. Two biofuel boilers of 5.0 MW total power with a condensing economiser are expected to be constructed under the project in the Šalčininkai boiler house. The investment support of LTL 3.39 million was allocated for the project in 2013.
